The Kerner Commision was a group of 11 members in the National Advisor Commision. It was created by Lyndon Johnson to find out why there were riots during 1967. The group was to answer the questions what happened?, why did it happen?and what could be done to prevent it from happening again? The report determined that the United States was moving toward to different societies one white one black. They were going to try to persuade legislation to make more acts towards bettering African Americans lives in America. The recommendations were did not get passed. More riots occured.
